What to do when you are feeling stuck

When we feel stuck in our lives, perhaps a little lost, it is usually a sign that we need to change things up.

And with that change needs to come a different energy. So how do we change that energy? The one thing that will really help is moving your body.

And I don’t mean going for a walk, I mean getting a sweat up and really moving your body and putting some energy behind it.

What kind of exercise do you really enjoy doing? Is it dancing? Is it swimming? Is it walking? Is it yoga? Is it pilates? Is it boxing, skipping, circuit training?

Even better is to try something that you have never done before. If it is a walk, do a brisk walk instead of the usual pace.

As we come into a different season it is a great time to start increasing our energy. There are plenty of YouTube videos which can support and help you make a start, let me know how you get on!

The Joy Workout

As an alternative to the conventional exercise above and you are findng your motivation and energy dip at any point in the day, this short 8.29mins New York Times video workout will get you feeling energised and motivated.

Thank you to my accountability buddy Lorraine Eivers FCIPD for sharing this with me last year, I am sharing it again as a reminder for you all! I love it! It is now safely in my toolbox for when I need a boost of energy and motivation. Click on the link HERE to access:

Following your gut or your intuition..

Are you in tune with your intuition?

Intuition is your inner voice and knowledge within, without the influence of outside sources. Albert Einstein once said: “The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant.”

In a 2005 Stanford speech, Steve Jobs credited his intuitive mind as having a significant impact on his work. “You have to trust in something,” he said. “Your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.”

Jobs added, “This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

So how do you tune into your intuition if you have never done it before?

Free writing - powerful to do first thing in the morning or last thing at night. Write whatever comes into your mind, you might be surprised by what you write!

Meditation - the act of taking time to slow down, be still and focus on our breath can allow our needs to rise to the surface. Maybe it’ll reveal that you need more moments of quiet?

Ask a question - struggling for the answer to an issue? If you are standing or sitting, close your eyes and give yourself a deep breath in and out 3 times, be still........then either ask the question out loud or in your head and see what you hear...

The Moon Cycles

Are you like me and get affected by the moon?

In the last year I have been more in tune with myself and the moon, so it is still a relatively new concept to me My accountability buddy Julia can very much vouch for this!! And interestingly a recent article this month by Fearne Cotton interviewing Kirsty Gallagher of Luna Living talks about the Lunar Cycle -

'Just as the moon turns the tides on earth she has an effect on our energy levels and the watery inner world of our emotions and dreams. When we begin to work more closely with lunar cycles and pay attention we start to see that the moon is always guiding us, showing us where we are out of alignment in ourselves and our lives.'

For example, I am particularly emotional in the day leading up to a full moon. I look forward to researching this area more and taking a deeper dive into this unknown world. In the meantime, here is a useful link to the moon calendar which you may find useful. CLICK HERE

Try it, even if you are scared

Finally, a little something from the inspirational and wonderful Sarah Blakely of Spanx - although I don’t really agree with the word “fail”, this is a good reminder for us to try something even if its scary! CLICK HERE
